A special exhibit of local student artwork will be on display at the Block Northway from Feb. 14 to March 14, 2022.

Artwork created by students from several schools in the north hills region will be on display, including 35 pieces of artwork from Hampton Middle School, Wyland Elementary, and Central Elementary.

The “Student Art Show” exhibition is free and open to the public Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The exhibition is located at The Block Northway, 8013 McKnight Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15237 in the South Corridor, Upper Level between Lands’ End and DSW.

“Students are very proud to share their talent and creativity in this public venue!” said Mrs. Lisa Woods, Hampton Middle School Art Teacher. “Being part of the Block Northway show, offers students a unique, real world opportunity to present their work to a public audience as well as respond to artwork created by peers outside of school.”

An important component of Hampton’s Visual Arts Program, based on the National Core Arts Standards, includes presenting and perceiving artwork. Opportunities to present and perceive artwork frequently occur in Hampton’s school hallways and building displays.

The exhibit highlights artistic achievements created by elementary, middle school and senior high school students. Participating school districts also include North Hills School District, North Allegheny School District and Blessed Trinity Academy. Students’ artwork will also be featured throughout 2022 on The Block Northway’s website.
