HHS Drama Club shines at Prime Stage Theatre Drama Awards

HTSD congratulates the cast and crew of the HHS Drama Club fall play, “Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years in a Certain School of Magic and Magic!” for an outstanding evening at the Prime Stage Theatre Drama Awards on Jan. 29.

This is the first year that Hampton has participated in the Awards, receiving 15 nominations. The students had the opportunity to celebrate their success and perform a scene from "Puffs" at the New Hazlett Theatre.

Hampton won the following awards:

🥇 Best Student Scenic Design: Jacob Baker, Margaret Sager, and Lily Stalewski

🥇 Best Student Directors: Andrew Kaehly and Kiley Vande Geest

Furthermore, Andrew and Kiley, were invited to share their experiences and discuss the Awards on KDKA's Pittsburgh Today Live. 

Puffs was also nominated for the following awards:

  • Best Actor: Nathan Connelly

  • Best Actress: Echo Schomaeker

  • Best Supporting Actress: Ashley Kimmell

  • Best Student Stage Manager: Margaret Sager

  • Best Student Lighting Design: Jacob Baker, Michael Petrucci & Garret Vasil

  • Best Student Prop Design: Samantha Nicely

  • Best Student Costume Design Team

  • Best Student Makeup Design: Shane Noone

  • Best Student Use Of Creative Special Effects: Jacob Baker

  • Best Student Sound Design: Melanie Roth & Claire Topper

  • Best Student Backstage Run Crew Team

  • Best Student Program/Poster Design: Kiley Vande Geest

  • Best Overall Production

The HHS Drama Club performed “Puffs!” from Nov. 9-11.
